Cheshire FA are hugely proud to announce a brand-new partnership with Motherwell Cheshire.

Motherwell Cheshire is a women and girls’ charity with the mission to Encourage, Inspire and Empower. The charity offers counselling, peer support, community support and a community share hub.

Women & Girls Officer, Laura Holmes outlined: “At Cheshire FA, we want to create an environment that is safe and inclusive for all of our thousands of participants. Period dignity is a vitally important topic, and I am proud that thanks to this partnership, our women and girls teams across the County will be able to support their players and give them the confidence to participate in football.”

Safeguarding Manager, Nadine Crane, added: “Education is a vital part of this partnership, and ensuring that our grassroots volunteers are aware of the importance of providing period dignity to women and girls across the game in Cheshire. Through this partnership, we will be offering support and education for volunteers including our Club Welfare Officer network, to give our women and girls the reassurance that they need to enjoy football in a safe way.”

Kate Blakemore, CEO of Motherwell Cheshire explained: "As part of our Cheshire Girl Can campaign, it is great to be working with Cheshire FA to help more women and girls to be involved in sport and feel safe both practically and emotionally. I am looking forward to seeing our Period dignity in Sport develop throughout the partnership."

The partnership between Motherwell Cheshire and Cheshire FA will see period dignity packs made available to women and girls teams across Cheshire; the first partnership of it’s kind in the County. 

Business Development Manager, Greg McLean concluded: “Thanks to this partnership, we will not only be able to support women and girls across Cheshire, we will also be able to raise awareness of the subject matter and help reduce any stigma attached to talking about this hugely important area. As a County FA, we are committed to being Inclusive, Progressive and Respectful – this partnership brings to life our values. Motherwell Cheshire will also be the title sponsor of our U15 Girls County Cup for 2024/25, a further opportunity to raise awareness.”
